Each year, the West End Writers Workshop sponsors a writing contest to showcase the talent of writers around the world. In June, the winners are announced and celebrated at a ceremony in the stately Barclay Manor in Vancouver's West End. This event is free and open to the public.
Our 2009 Writing Contest was an exciting success. This year we had 69 entries from 57 writers from as far away as Ontario, including a high school creative writing class from Langely. Congratulations to the winners who took home $350 in prizes. Thanks to author and poet Elizabeth Rhett Woods who served as our judge.
