The West End Writers Workshop is happy to announce its 2009 Writing Contest
Every year the West End Writers Workshop sponsors a writing contest to showcase the talent of writers around the world. In June, the winners are announced and celebrated at a ceremony in the stately Barclay Manor in Vancouver's West End. This event is free and open to the public.
$200 First Prize, $100 Second Prize and $50 Third Prize
Contest entries may be poetry or prose, and there is no theme.
Entries Accepted - April 1, 2009
Submission Deadline - Thursday, May 15th, 2009
Short list announcement - late May
Awards Announcement and Ceremony at Barclay Manor - Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Contest results will be emailed to the WEWW membership and contest entrants, and will be posted at: www.wewriters.org/contestwinners.html.
All entries must be in the English language.
Word count limited to 1000 words for prose. Limit two poems, one-page each.
$10 CN fee per prose entry or for up to two poetry entries.
Checks and cashier's checks are payable in CND to: Westend Writers.
Entries must be printed on one side of white paper only.
Do not include author’s name or any identifying information on the submissions pages.
Please include a separate entry sheet with title(s), name, address, phone, email, and please tell us how you heard about the contest.
